What are Sidebar Widgets and how do I edit them?
From time to time you may wish to update, add or remove sidebar widgets from the content pages of your website. Sidebar widgets display information that isn’t part of the page you are viewing’s main content (see screenshot below). They’re called ‘sidebar widgets’ because they allow you to move (widget) things around and in and out of your sidebar. They’re useful for containing important links and forms for your agency.
Widgets in Siteloft can be in the form of either a:
- Button, (As above; Contact us, Request an appraisal and Sign up to our newsletter)
- List (As above; How to contact us, Staff, etc.)
We recommend using buttons for forms and lists for links to other pages. This clearly separates the slide-out forms from links to other pages.
Deleting Widgets:
To delete a widget:
- Log in to WordPress by adding '/sl-login/' to the end of your website's URL and entering your credentials
- From the Dashboard go to Appearance > Widgets
- Drag and drop the link from the Main Sidebar on the right-hand side back over to the Available Widgets section on the left (see screenshot below).
